Katey Sagal has had the most varied set of role of any actor on television. While she played matriarchal figures in many of them they are very, very different roles. She has played Peggy Bundy, Turanga Leela, Cate Hennessy, and Gemma Teller-Morrow. For that body of work alone she should be rewarded.

Furthermore, I liked the fact that Halle Berry was nominated for her work in Frankie and Alice a passion project of hers in which she has received very little recognition. Of what little recognition she has received it has been overwhelmingly positive. It is weird to me that an Oscar-winning actress should generate such little buzz about such a successful movie.
