First, what is it about Mad Men’s tepid (for a network) ratings that attracted them to want to copy it in the first place? Is Ace of Cakes up for a network copy next?? Second, you can pretty much hear the network exec behind Playboy saying, “I like this Mad Men show, but how about more T&A, and let’s get a murder in there too!” eesh

And man do they look bad (Playboy in particular seems like Don Draper as written by 9th graders). It’s almost as blatant as if the networks had attempted dramas about mob families circa 2000. More importantly, I doubt even Mad Men would survive on the networks with its ratings. They expect the knock-offs to do better?
