Agreed that Rogen’s “My Week with Marilyn” line was inspired.

I thought the whole thing was pretty dull, with no real train-wreck moments and Gervais going after low-hanging fruit like Bieber and the Kardashians. But the highlight for me was probably Seth Rogen’s sarcastic comment about “the hilarious comedy” My Week with Marilyn. It’s a familiar complaint, but his gesture toward awards shows’ fear of even nominating films, programs, and performances that actually contain–y’know–jokes was probably the closest thing to a subversive moment.
