Looking forward to joining the Jayhawk family.
Also, are you aware of any other initiatives or partnerships by media, tech, or software companies that selected or carved out areas of KCK, KCMO, or Lawrence for experimentation with products or services? I just noticed that in 2007, Sprint outfitted KCK public school buses with GPS. But do any other projects or services come to mind? Just curious.

Moreover it shows that the university’s influence and importance in developing technologically savvy students has been well rewarded. In fact, my hope is that this announcement will enable KCK and KCMO to be reinvigorated as major American cities and help with the budget shortfalls and bleak economic outlook that had plagued the region for awhile.
Lastly, as an alum of KU who has a vested interest in the future of the department and the university I would like to take this opportunity to say congrats to you, Germaine, and welcome to the Jawhawk family. I look forward to seeing how you help shape the program and how your work is impacted by your teaching there.
