Maybe this is being a bit naive, but it seems like Simon (at least in the much-maligned first episode of the new season) is trying to address these issues a bit. I’m thinking of the loathsome real estate developer from Dallas–perhaps he’ll become a useful mechanism for talking through some of the complexities of the problems you raise.
